1 जब इस्राएल ने मिस्त्र से, अर्थात याकूब के घराने ने अन्य भाषा वालों के बीच में कूच किया,
1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
2 तब यहूदा यहोवा का पवित्र स्थान और इस्राएल उसके राज्य के लोग हो गए॥
2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
3 समुद्र देखकर भागा, यर्दन नदी उलटी बही।
3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
4 पहाड़ मेढ़ों की नाईं उछलने लगे, और पहाड़ियां भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों की नाईं उछलने लगीं॥
4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
5 हे समुद्र, तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू भागा? और हे यर्दन तुझे क्या हुआ, कि तू उलटी बही?
5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6 हे पहाड़ों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़ों की नाईं, और हे पहाड़ियों तुम्हें क्या हुआ, कि तुम भेड़- बकरियों के बच्चों की नाईं उछलीं?
6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
7 हे पृथ्वी प्रभु के साम्हने, हां याकूब के परमेश्वर के साम्हने थरथरा।
7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 वह चट्टान को जल का ताल, चकमक के पत्थर को जल का सोता बना डालता है॥
8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
