रतं च सत्यं चाभीद्धात तपसो.अध्यजायत |

English:- . FROM Fervour kindled to its height Eternal Law and Truth were born:
Thence was the Night produced, and thence the billowy flood of sea arose.

समुद्रादर्णवादधि संवत्सरो अजायत |
अहोरात्राणिविदधद विश्वस्य मिषतो वशी
English:- From that same billowy flood of sea the Year was afterwards produced,
