हवयाम्य अग्निम परथमं सवस्तये हवयामि मित्रावरुणाव इहावसे |
हवयामि रात्रीं जगतो निवेशनीं हवयामि देवं सवितारम ऊतये
English:- AGNI I first invoke for our prosperity; I call on Mitra, Varuṇa, to aid us here.
I call on Night who gives rest to all moving life; I call on Savitar the God to lend us help.

आ कर्ष्णेन रजसा वर्तमानो निवेशयन्न अम्र्तम मर्त्यं च |
हिरण्ययेन सविता रथेना देवो याति भुवनानि पश्यन
English:- Throughout the dusky firmament advancing, laying to rest the immortal and the mortal,
Borne in his golden chariot he cometh, Savitar, God who looks on every creature.

याति देवः परवता यात्य उद्वता याति शुभ्राभ्यां यजतो हरिभ्याम |
आ देवो याति सविता परावतो ऽप विश्वा दुरिता बाधमानः
English:- The God moves by the upward path, the downward; with two bright Bays, adorable, he journeys.
Savitar comes, the God from the far distance, and chases from us all distress and sorrow.

अभीव्र्तं कर्शनैर विश्वरूपं हिरण्यशम्यं यजतो बर्हन्तम |
आस्थाद रथं सविता चित्रभानुः कर्ष्णा रजांसि तविषीं दधानः
English:- His chariot decked with pearl, of various colours, lofty, with golden pole, the God hath mounted,
The many-rayed One, Savitar the holy, bound, bearing power and might, for darksome regions.

वि जनाञ्छ्यावाः शितिपादो अख्यन रथं हिरण्यप्ररौगं वहन्तः |
शश्वद विशः सवितुर दैव्यस्योपस्थे विश्वा भुवनानि तस्थुः
English:- Drawing the gold-yoked car his Bays, white-footed, have manifested light to all the peoples.
Held in the lap of Savitar, divine One, all men, all beings have their place for ever.

तिस्रो दयावः सवितुर दवा उपस्थां एका यमस्य भुवने विराषाट |
आणिं न रथ्यम अम्र्ताधि तस्थुर इह बरवीतु य उ तच चिकेतत
English:- Three heavens there are; two Savitar's, adjacent: in Yama's world is one, the home of heroes,
As on a linch-pin, firm, rest things immortal: he who hath known it let him here declare it.

वि सुपर्णो अन्तरिक्षाण्य अख्यद गभीरवेपा असुरः सुनीथः |
कवेदानीं सूर्यः कश चिकेत कतमां दयां रश्मिर अस्या ततान
English:- He, strong of wing, hath lightened up the regions, deep-quivering Asura, the gentle Leader.
Where now is Sūrya, where is one to tell us to what celestial sphere his ray hath wandered?

अष्टौ वय अख्यत ककुभः पर्थिव्यास तरी धन्व योजना सप्त सिन्धून |
हिरण्याक्षः सविता देव आगाद दधद रत्ना दाशुषे वार्याणि
English:- The earth's eight points his brightness hath illumined, three desert regions and the Seven Rivers.
God Savitar the gold-eyed hath come hither, giving choice treasures unto him who worships.

हिरण्यपाणिः सविता विचर्षणिर उभे दयावाप्र्थिवी अन्तर ईयते |
अपामीवाम बाधते वेति सूर्यम अभि कर्ष्णेन रजसा दयाम रणोति
English:- The golden-handed Savitar, far-seeing, goes on his way between the earth and heaven,
Drives away sickness, bids the Sun approach us, and spreads the bright sky through the darksome region.

हिरण्यहस्तो असुरः सुनीथः सुम्र्ळीकः सववान यात्वर्वां |
अपसेधन रक्षसो यातुधानानस्थाद देवः परतिदोषं गर्णानः
English:- May he, gold-handed Asura, kind Leader, come hither to us with his help and favour.
Driving off Rākṣasas and Yātudhānas, the God is present, praised in hymns at evening.

ये ते पन्थाः सवितः पूर्व्यासो.अरेणवः सुक्र्ता अन्तरिक्षे |
तेभिर्नो अद्य पथिभिः सुगेभी रक्षा च नो अधि च बरूहि देव
English:- O Savitar, thine ancient dustless pathways are well established in the air's mid-region:
O God, come by those paths so fair to travel, preserve thou us from harm this day, and bless us.
